Helicopter Spins Wildly into Palm Fronds at Well-Known Southern California Shoreline
A chopper soaring near a crowded California shoreline abruptly began spiraling uncontrollably, finally dropping height and plunging into a line of palm fronds as spectators watched.
Videos posted on social media depict the chopper beginning to twirl near Huntington Beach then descending towards the perimeter of the beach, where it becomes wedged among palm groves and a set of stairs near the shoreline route.
Emergency Response Update
The Huntington Beach fire department said five people were transported to a medical facility including a pair who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the incident on that day.
Three individuals on the street were hurt. Information on their wounds were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.
