Based on latest statistics, the population of individuals reaching 100 in the UK has grown by 100% from 8,300 in 2004 to 16,600 in 2024.
From 2004 and 2024, the total of male centenarians has increased threefold from 910 to 3,100. During the same period, the count of female individuals reaching 100 almost doubled from 7,400 to 13,600.
We are keen to listen to those aged 100 or over, their family or companions, about what it has been like to experience the past century’s major happenings and shifts.
